Broadband internet is a critical infrastructure that enables the flow of information and services. It has become essential to economic development, and is a vital tool for engaging in work, participating in education, receiving health care, and connecting socially. However, access to reliable and affordable broadband internet is uneven in our region. The Internet for All study asks, "How can we create universal access to affordable and reliable broadband internet in our region?"

This study will address:

  • broadband technologies
  • the role of broadband in regional economic development
  • barriers to access, including infrastructure, cost, and adoption
  • the roles that public and private entities play in creating affordable access to reliable broadband internet
  • challenges to accessing broadband internet, including privacy and security
