The findings and recommendations of the region’s first Community Study, Enhancing the Educational Attainment of Our Region’s Children, will be reported to the public at a June 23 luncheon to be held in Walla Walla.

Study Committee Chairman Roger Bairstow will discuss information gathered by a committee of citizens from throughout the region during a six-month study of the educational, mental health and housing needs of our region’s children and the Committee’s specific recommendations for improvement in order for children to attain success with their education.

The event will be held in the Walla Walla Community College Conference Center, Room 185, at noon. There is no charge for the luncheon, but seating is limited. Reservations are required. Call 509-540-6720 or send your name, address, email address, and telephone number to julie@wallawallavitalsigns.org. Your reservation will be confirmed.

After June 23, a final report for the Study will be available in printed form and on the Community Council’s website. In coming months, a task force of volunteers with the support of the Community Council will work for implementation of the recommendations. For more information call Executive Director Julie Reese, 509-540-6720.
